A fall sunset. Live music. A Blue Hills hilltop. What could be better?
Join Friends of the Blue Hills on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for one of our favorite fall traditions: the Sunset Hike & Hilltop Concert on Great Blue Hill. Last year, hundreds of people made their way up the hill for an evening of hiking, music, community, and an unforgettable sunset. Hikers arrived on their own or joined one of our guided hikes, spread out picnic blankets at the summit, connected with community partners, and enjoyed live music as the sun slipped below the horizon. This year, we’re doing it again!

Make an afternoon of it. Hike up Great Blue Hill, bring a picnic to enjoy at the summit, and settle in for live music as the day winds down. Whether you’re a longtime Blue Hills regular or looking for a new way to experience the Reservation, this is a beautiful way to welcome fall.

We will have guided hikes leaving the Trailside Museum area starting around 4 pm. You can also head up on your own. Just be sure you’re at the top of Great Blue early enough to enjoy the live music and before the sun sets at 6:39 pm.
